I am currently a Chief Technologist at Collins Aerospace Applied Research & Technology (formerly United Technologies Research Center) in Cork, Ireland.
I received my Doctor of Philosophy in 2014 and Master of Science in 2009 in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. Previously in 2008, I received the degree of Bachelor of Technology in Engineering Physics at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.
My paper titled “Longest Straight Line Paths on Water or Land on the Earth” recently received some publicity on the Internet. Among other outlets, Science, MIT Technology Review, Atlas Obscura, Popular Mechanics, Gizmodo, Smithsonian, and Newsweek published articles about it. On 19th November 2018, the quiz show Wer weiß denn sowas? on the German channel Das Erste featured it as a question.
In 2003, I represented India in the Eighth International Astronomy Olympiad held at Stockholm, Sweden, from October 2nd to 8th, and won a gold medal.
